WHO SAYS READING IS A PAST-TIME? IT CAN ALSO BE AN ADDICTION…
I have developed a keen fondness for writing ever since I put pen to paper. I have a strong mind and opinions which I find hard to keep to myself, I believe in democracy, free thinking and have complicated thoughts about the intangible workings of society. I hope to articulate myself explicitly when I write, so I never stop editing and correcting my own work! Call it obsession, but I believe that sometimes writing is a retreat from all the madness the world faces today. We traverse through global warming, the trauma and terror of COVID, and we read through it all. Civilisations and monarchies have been cemented and caved, but writing and wit has persevered through it all.
That being said, I have always believed that literature is of no use kept to oneself. Its value is increased by tenfold only when it is shared. What is literature? A string of sentences with words most cleverly put together? Or emotions and thoughts most beautifully described? There is no correct definition but according to me literature is this world’s best gift- it entertains, revives and restores.
